This delightful Virunga coffee is bright and tastes sweet caramel with a nutmeg finish. Grown by small farmers in volcanic-rich soils on the foothills of Rwanda, coffees from this region are recognized for their plush berry overtones, caramel sweetness, and citrus qualities. In recent years, the emergence of coffee washing stations and cooperatives have greatly improved Rwanda's bean quality, restoring their economy, and aiding in conservation efforts to protect the endangered mountain gorillas in their native homeland.
